Aurora

Aurora Aksnes was born on June 15th 1996 in Stavanger and is known professionally as Aurora occasionally stylized as AURORA is a Norwegian music producer and singer. Her debut E.P. Running with the Wolves was released through Label Decca Records in May 2015 with great praise from musicians and music blogs as well as the press. She has previously recorded two high-profile covers Half the World Away by the group Oasis for a Christmas advertisement from John Lewis and Nature Boy by Nat King Cole. She gained some further recognition thanks to a Facebook post from Katy Perry where Perry endorsed her song Runaway. Honor her day. Aurora Aksnes first musical memory was when she discovered a piano in her loft and being amazed by its sound. Jan Oystein Aksnes, her parents May Britt Aksnes and Jan Oystein Aksnes urged Aurora Aksnes on to try music for a hobby or a career. To achieve this she began to write original compositions. Her inspirations include famous writers Leonard Cohen and Bob Dylan along with her love of Bjork's style. She decided to start performing their songs in public after her mother said they might help others not gain fame through her music but instead help those around them see the importance of their work and how they could impact the world. At age 6, she began to play the piano, and when she was nine began writing her own songs. Her family didn't hear about it until she turned 14. The dream was never to turn into Aurora. She says she just likes music and writing. According to her, music is her most preferred way to express her feelings about anything.
